56 plus miles up on the legs

Saturday 4th August
Was out with Timmy and Dermot last night in Cork city. Met up in Bodhran and spent our time chatting and watching the Olympics in the pub. Watching Mo Farah run was inspiring this evening. Anyway drank nothing more stronger than 2 lucozade on Friday night. Feeling a lot better for it today even though I wasn’t home till nearly 3am. Needless to say rest day to day. Long run tomorrow with the Mallow group before i head off to Basque France and Spain for a 10 day training camp holiday ;-)
Sunday 5th August
Ran with the Mallow group this morning. Wanted to do around 16-17 miles but at a slow relaxed pace. I hope that by going at a slow relaxed pace my feet and body would become accustomed to spending time on my feet. Jogged a interesting route. Up the Cork rd, turned off for Dromahane, went through some obscure pathway (feckin nettles) and up onto Dromahane. We jogged passed a old Celtic church.  Stunning views of the countryside and then up and down some  killer hills. Came onto Mallow rd and then a hard few miles home back to the Roundabout Inn. I was one of the last to finish but delighted to get 2Hr’s30mins47seconds of running up on my legs. Did 17.36 miles. Was tempted to run another bit to make it 18 miles but no point in taking chances. Average heart rate was 146 which was ideal.
Total miles for week 56.66 miles. A very good weeks running. What happens over next 11 days will be interesting.
Monday 9 miles, Tuesday 10 miles, Wednesday 4 miles, Thursday 6.3 miles, Friday 10 miles, Sunday 17.36 miles
